Johnson Grammar School, ICSE, was given the authorization to offer the IBDP in the year 2008, after almost a year and a half of extensive preparation and orientation. The IBDP at Johnson Grammar School, ICSE, though in its nascent stage, is proud to be the only IB School in the state to bring this program closer to the parent community. The IBO or the International Baccalaureate Organization is a non-profit educational foundation, motivated by its mission, focused on the student. Founded in 1968, the IBO currently works with all its candidate schools to develop and offer three challenging programs, the Primary Years Program, the Middle Year Program and the Diploma Program.

The Diploma Program is a demanding 2 year curriculum leading to final examinations and a qualification that is recognized and accepted by leading universities around the world. The IBO aim is to provide students with the values and opportunities that will enable them to develop sound judgement, make wise choices, and respect others in the global community. It is a challenging pre-university course with rigorous internal and external assessment, for highly motivated students who are well organized.

The IB offers a continuum of high-quality education that encourages international-mindedness and a positive attitude to learning. These programs are accessible to students all over the world through IBO's close cooperation with the worldwide community of IB World Schools.

The IBO authorizes schools to conduct their programs through a special authorization procedure. There are 2,660 IB schools in 136 countries offering the IB curriculum to over 723,000 students aged 3 to 19 years.

The International Baccalaureate (Grades 11 - 12) Diploma Program, or the IBDP, a pre-university course for students aged 16 to 19, is an academically challenging and balanced program of education that leads to examinations externally set and moderated. The program is for highly motivated students and is recognized by universities both in India and abroad as providing a strong foundation for studying at degree level. Students who study for the IB Diploma benefit from a broad and balanced curriculum that facilitates in-depth study of a subject.
